The S-Bahn Rhine-Neckar operates in the states of Rhineland-Palatinate, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse and Saarland. With the introduction of the Siemens Mireo vehicles, the appearance was redesigned. The concept of a light basic colour with dark, high-contrast door areas corresponds to the style already established in local rail passenger transport in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland. The design of the pictograms and passenger information was also adopted. The choice of colours for both the exterior and the passenger compartment is based on the mobility identity "bwegt" of the state of Baden-Württemberg. As a result, a visual identity for the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region was developed that fits in well with the connecting transport network and creates a continuous user experience.
